Understand The Zodiac Patterns of Anxiety
Know What Your Horoscope Reveals About Your Repetitive Instincts

Obsessive-Compulsive Disorder (OCD) is more than a preference for neatness or routine — it’s a complex mental health condition where the mind becomes caught in a powerful loop. It begins with intrusive, unwanted thoughts or fears — called obsessions — that arrive uninvited and refuse to be ignored. To quiet the anxiety they create, a person may feel driven to perform certain repetitive behaviors or mental rituals — known as compulsions — in an attempt to regain a sense of control or relief.
OCD has also been termed ego-syntonic, meaning that instincts or thoughts that are acceptable to oneself are consistent with one’s values and ways of thinking. They are in line with one’s core personality and beliefs.
People with OCD often experience distressing thoughts (obsessions) that they compulsively try to control by repeating specific behaviours. Obsessions cause a lot of anxiety because they are not only intrusive and unwanted, but also recurrent! Being ego-dystonic, obsessions go against what a person wants. Surprisingly, even though people with OCD know their thoughts and behaviours are illogical, they often can’t stop them.
OCD can be simply explained as having strange, unwelcome and disturbing thoughts that persist despite your best efforts. They’re so distressing that you do things that others might find surprising or strange in the hope of getting rid of them.
You engage in strange behaviours like cleaning repeatedly, counting things repeatedly, tapping, checking repeatedly, and washing your hands. Sometimes, you do these things to avoid bad things—like infection, trouble, or perhaps even death. These actions often resemble rituals—checking the bottom repeatedly, pressing the light switch six times, checking your wallet—things like that.
Astrological Reference by Counsellor Hridayankur Sharma (www.mridconsults.com)
Some subtypes of OCD symptoms have also been identified, and we’ll explain why these subtypes are considered “unofficial types.”
-
Scrupulosity, or religious OCD: It involves obsessions and compulsions surrounding religious beliefs. According our counsellor Hridayankur (Mrid Consults) the planet Rahu’s, Jupiter and Mercury’s inappropriate conjunction has been linked to this. If you have a thought you consider blasphemous, you may feel compelled to pray a certain number of times, fear (afflicted moon), count to a certain number (Afflicted mercury or Virgo sign in horoscope), or touch a certain number of objects to try to get rid of it.
-
Relationship OCD: It involves recurring doubts, questions, and intrusive thoughts about your relationship. This is seen with the conjunction of planets Rahu-Ketu / Afflicted Venus/Mars with other planets.
-
Pure O (Obsession): it includes intrusive thoughts and obsessions, such as sexual, religious, or violent ones, but there are no explicit compulsions. Compulsions can also occur in pure O, which is directly related to affliction of the combinations of Pluto/Uranus/Neptune, which are aspected or combined with bad aspects or conjunctions. They may simply be mental rituals rather than physical acts.
-
Lack of emotional care, a major cause of OCD: Our history, especially our childhood experiences, shapes us this way, whether through our childhood circumstances or early relationships with our parents. This type of disorder is accompanied by a feeling of insecurity that cannot be overcome. This means that when we were so v
-
Vulnerable and weak, we may feel some threat or uncertainty about our situation. Astrologically we can add that Saturn-Moon, Moon-Rahi/Ketu combination, sometimes Kemdrum yoga or other afflictions of Moon found responsible for these cases.
Counseling & Cure
-
Completely curable without medication: OCD can actually be cured without medication, with the help of a competent psychological therapist.
-
Timely Identification: All that’s needed is to identify the underlying cause, and once identified, it can be rooted out and eliminated. It all depends on the client’s ability to accept it.
Recommended Therapy Methods For OCD include:
-
Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT): – Recognising patterns of unwanted or negative thoughts and behaviours.
-
Exposure and Response Prevention (ERP): – Learning to manage the distress caused by fearful situations, or the anxieties or obsessions at the root of the compulsions, without engaging in the compulsive behavior.
-
Mindfulness-Based Cognitive Therapy (Meditation): – This involves learning mindfulness skills to cope with the distress caused by obsessive thoughts.
-
Love and Compassionate Support: If our parents hadn’t loved us unconditionally, we would have had to adapt to the environment or our parents’ needs in order to survive. A child can only truly become themselves when they receive unconditional love and affection, and have true autonomous emotional development.
-
Self-Identification & Liberation: This is what it means to be your true self and to feel truly free and liberated.
All the above therapies fall under the particular signification of different planets in astrology. As every case is different from the others, proper directions can only be provided after identifying the proper symptoms by analysing an individual’s horoscope during a counselling session.
